Made from offcuts of Douglas Fir wood, sourced from my local sawmill, this bird box is made according to RSPB specification.

This durable wood also eliminates the need for preservatives or paint, making it a low-maintenance choice.

Anytime but not anywhere!

While nest boxes for small birds are typically installed in the spring, it’s best to put one up by the end of winter. Pairs of birds begin scouting for nesting sites in late February, so an early installation increases the chances of attracting them.

For optimal positioning, nest boxes should face between north and east. This orientation provides natural shelter from direct sunlight, wind, and rain, creating a safer, more comfortable environment for growing birds.
